I love to photograph expecting mothers, newborns, children, engagements, weddings, parties and pets! If you have an idea, just ask! The best age to photograph a newborn is from 5-12 days of age. Although most clients bring their babies to my home where the light is consistent and all the props are close at hand, I do hold sessions on location as well, finding beautiful light in the comfort of the clients home. Newborn sessions are usually about 3 hours long, allowing plenty of time for feedings, soothing and a variety of poses and set ups for your babies unique gallery of images. Infants photograph the best between 6-9 months, at this age they are sitting on their own but not yet crawling away. The next popular age is 1, they are much more challenging at this age but their personality really shines through!

The best time of day to schedule an outdoor portrait is the very early morning (starting no later than 9:00 a.m.) and late afternoon/early evening (up to an hour before sunset). This provides us with the most flattering light since mid-day sun is harsh and produces hard shadows. Overcast days are perfect! I don't put any limit on how many shots I take, I will take however many it takes to get lots of great photos for you to choose from. Even on smaller shoots I usually end up taking hundreds of pictures. Sessions are never rushed and usually last 1-3 hours. How many outfits and styles you want will really increase the time. Young children are encouraged to have snacks, breaks, and play time to keep them happy and relaxed. I will travel to your home or location of choice within approximately an hour of Wells Maine (04090). A $50 travel fee will be charged for locations more than 60 miles.
